Pete Castleberry and Emily Elison are passionate about the law and committed to serving their clients. Pete and Emily previously worked together as law clerks for the Federal Public Defenders Office in Portland, Oregon, where they regularly collaborated on a variety of legal research projects. Their ability to work as a team, and the shared belief that every legal problem should be approached from all possible angles, defines an intense work ethic and a powerful commitment to excellence in advocacy.

About Pete Castleberry
- Concentrated on criminal law at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. Graduated cum laude, and successfully earned the Certificate in Criminal Law and Procedure.
- Pete was awarded the honor of Best Oral Advocate in an oral argument competition amongst first-year law students.
- Worked as the Internet Editor and Submissions Editor for Lewis & Clark Law Review, and was the Vice President of the Public Interest Law Project.
- After graduation, Pete was selected as a member of Lewis & Clark Law School’s prestigious Cornelius Honor Society on the basis of superior scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the law school community.
- While in law school, Pete worked as a law clerk for the Oregon Federal Public Defenders Office in Portland, Oregon, where he worked on a variety of federal criminal cases.
- Pete also interned at the Metropolitan Public Defender’s Office in Portland, where he had the opportunity to handle many misdemeanor criminal cases in Multnomah County.

About Emily Elison
- Concentrated on criminal law at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. Graduated cum laude, and successfully earned the Certificate in Criminal Law and Procedure.
- Emily was awarded the honor of Best Appellate Brief in a writing competition amongst first-year law students.
- She took several classes focusing on appellate advocacy and represented the law school in competition as a member of the Appellate Moot Court team.
- She also served as the Editor in Chief of the Animal Law Review.
- Emily was selected as a member of Lewis & Clark Law School’s prestigious Cornelius Honor Society on the basis of superior scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the law school community.
- While in law school, Emily worked as a law clerk for the Oregon Federal Public Defender’s Office in Portland, where she worked on a variety of federal criminal matters. Emily excelled at trial preparation, motion drafting, and writing appellate briefs.
